the heart behind poiema.
what exactly does poiema mean?
his poem.
It’s what the Bible calls us in Ephesians 2:10. The Greek we translate today as “masterpiece” or “handiwork” is transliterated poiema (pronounced poy-AY-mah), and this is the word from which our modern day word poem originated. Put another way, we are God’s divine poem, each moment of our lives representing a syllable in the poetic story He is transcribing over a lifetime.
It is on this concept that Poiema Creative Co. was founded. We believe every person was intentionally created to fulfill a purpose catered to their unique gifting, passion, and personality. To take it a step further, we believe that the world becomes the best it can be when we more fully represent the Image of God within us, by living into just who our Creator envisioned us to be. And we are fully convinced this is only possible through the work of the Holy Spirit, by the sacrificial example of Jesus, and the love of the Father.
The best person you can be is exactly who God created you to be. We are big believers in the power of the Holy Spirit to transform a life by stripping away false identities and unhelpful coping mechanisms. By living into our identity in Christ, we believe this generation can be equipped to love better and leave a lasting impact on the world around them.
