with white-knuckles we cling so tightly onto our own way—our dreams, our plans, our ideas of what is best; our choice-sin-delicacies, which quickly turn to gravel in our mouths even moments after we’ve obliged. 

it felt like the world was caving in. and i had no reason to feel this way. i had been unexpectedly overcome with anxieties and worries in such a way that i felt like my very breath had been knocked and choked out of me.
